Porcelain Beads
Porcelain beads are a
ceramic
material that has a hard, fine-grained, nonporous surface.

ade from a dense white material, the beads are shaped by hand or with molds and carving tools.
They are then dried and fired in a kiln to high temperatures to set the shape.
Finally they are painted or dipped in glaze which may contain minerals or metallic oxides to create unique colors.
The process is repeated as the beads need to be coated multiple times to achieve the desired richness of color.
Porcelain
is finished with a variety of brightly colored, dappled or crackle-glazed finishes.
Porcelain beads are very strong, non-porous & very durable.

Porcelain beads have an elegant, bohemian look.
They
make an excellent choice for either spacer or focal beads in art work and jewelry.
